Mounting your Mag Shaker™ on a metal surface:
- Grip your bottle anywhere below the magnets—the magnet enclosures intentionally stick out from the side of the bottle to ensure your fingers will not get pinched against flat metal surfaces when mounting.
- Press one magnet against a flat metal surface, ensuring the entire magnet is making contact with the metal
- Note: if part of the magnet is not touching the metal surface, magnetic pull will be greatly reduced.
- Before releasing, ensure the bottle feels stable.

Note: magnetic pull force depends on the type of metal, metal thickness, carbon content, paint coatings, etc. The Mag Shaker™ has been tested at some of the largest gym chains in the U.S. including Lifetime Fitness, Gold's Gym, LA Fitness, Crunch Fitness, Planet Fitness, Vasa Fitness, and Equinox, to name a few. The bottle successfully mounts on all of the
metal lifting equipment at these gyms, no matter if the metal is thick, thin, painted/smooth, etc.
- Release your hand and mount phone on opposite magnet if desired!
Removing your Mag Shaker™ from a metal surface:
- Remove phone from bottle (if mounted)
- Grab bottle below the magnets
- Rotate wrist sideways about 30 degrees in either direction to disengage the magnet from the surface
- Note: pulling directly outward from the mounting surface without rotating the bottle will result in a lot more force required to remove the bottle.
- Pull bottle outward/away from the metal surface
Mixing Protein & Pre-workout Powders:
It’s easy. To make the smoothest shake imaginable with your Mag Shaker™, simply:
- Screw on the lid and snap the flip cap shut.
- Grip the bottle with a finger over the flip lid.
- Shake for 10 seconds.
- Enjoy!
Tips:
- Add liquid ingredients first, then add powders and thicker ingredients.
- Before shaking, screw lid firmly onto base and press flip cap down until you hear an audible snap. That’s the sign that the cap is securely closed.
- For best mixing action, hold the upper half of the bottle firmly and shake by rotating your wrist.
- For thicker powders, use two hands for a stronger shake!
Cleaning:
- The Mag Shaker™ is all about convenience—the permanently enclosed high temperature grade magnets ensure the entire bottle and cap are top-rack dishwasher safe! Rest assured, the magnets will never lose their magnetism from heat exposure in the dishwasher!
- Wash bottle before initial use, and immediately after every use. Trust us on this—there’s not much worse than a week-old protein shake. At minimum, rinse the bottle with water within 24hrs of use to prevent odor.
- If you have a lid that is looking off-color, try scrubbing it with a wet wipe to clean it up.
- Alternately, bottles may be washed by hand or shake washed with warm soapy water (Please note warning below regarding hot liquids).
Removing Odors from Your Mag Shaker™:
Stinky bottle? Most BPA-free plastics are prone to retaining odors if not cleaned promptly after use (again, nix the week-old protein shake). Try these tips for removing odors from your Mag Shaker™:
- Fill bottle with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and allow it to sit overnight, with flip lid open.
- Sprinkle a piece of newspaper with water, or place several drops of vanilla extract on a few paper towels. Crumple newspaper or paper towels and place inside bottle. Screw on lid and let bottle sit for 24 hours, with flip cap closed.
- Place damp coffee grounds inside bottle. Screw on lid and allow bottle to sit overnight, with flip cap closed.
- After cleaning the bottle out, leaving the lid off and letting it air out can do wonders.
Precautions:
- Mag Shaker™ bottles are not intended for use with hot or warm liquids. The secure seal of the bottles does not allow pressure to escape, therefore hot or warm liquids may cause the flip cap to open unexpectedly and spray contents.
- Please exercise caution when mixing other ingredients that may create pressure inside the bottle (such as—but not limited to—pancake batter, waffle batter, etc.). When mixing these types of ingredients, hold a finger over the flip cap while shaking and use caution when opening the cap.
- Furthermore, Mag Shaker™ bottles are not appropriate for carbonated beverages.
- Always point the spout away from your face when opening the flip cap.
Other Usage Notes
Are Mag Shaker™ products microwavable?
It’s a don’t. Due to the inclusion of rare earth magnets, microwaving may lead to excessive heat generation, damage to the magnet, damage to the rubber-like material or plastic, or spark generation which may be a fire hazard.
Can I freeze my Mag Shaker™?
It’s a don’t. Generally, we do not recommend freezing Mag Shaker™ bottles. Like most plastic containers, ours may become brittle and susceptible to cracking or breaking when frozen. Additionally, the rubber-like material covering the magnet will wear faster when subjected to freezing temperatures for extended periods of time. If you decide to freeze the contents of your bottle, please make sure to leave room at the top and leave the cap open, in order for the contents to expand.

Will my bottle fall off the gym equipment?
The most important question! The short answer is No!
The magnetic pull force depends on the type of metal, metal thickness, carbon content, paint coatings, etc.
The Mag Shaker™ has been tested at some of the largest gym chains in the U.S. including Lifetime Fitness, LA Fitness, Crunch Fitness, Planet Fitness, and Equinox, to name a few. The bottle successfully mounts on all of the metal lifting equipment at these gyms, no matter if the metal is thick, thin, painted/smooth, etc.
The bottle has been tested against equipment vibration and slamming weights. The bottle has not slid or fallen even when exposed to aggressive weight slamming and vibrations (filled to the top with water and with phone attached).
Tip: If the metal is subject to extreme weight slamming or vibration, mount the bottle farther away from where the weights are slamming.
Will the Mag Shaker™ work with any phone or tablet?
Even if you don't have a magnetic phone case, we've got you covered!
Each bottle comes with 2 metal pieces that can be stuck to the back of any phone or phone case.
The metal pieces have been tested on the largest/heaviest iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) and largest single screen Samsung phones.
Note: most tablets (iPad) will be too heavy for the bottle to hold while the bottle is mounted to a surface and completed filled with water. Use caution when testing a tablet.
Should I stick the metal piece on the inside or outside of my phone case?
Stick the metal piece on the outside of your phone case!
Having the metal piece in direct contact with the Mag Shaker (no phone case layer between it) will result in a firm hold for any phone.
We have tested the metal piece inside the phone case, and the magnetic pull force between the metal piece and the Mag Shaker is too weak and will result in the phone falling off the Mag Shaker when the bottle is exposed to vibration.
Will the Mag Shaker™ fit in cup holders or backpack slots?
Yes!
- The magnets are placed near the top of the bottle allowing the bottle to fit in any typical cup holder.
- Magnets are on opposite sides of the bottle (180 degrees apart), allowing you to place the bottle in a backpack slot without the magnets pressing against the backpack.
Will the metal piece on the phone work with wireless phone chargers?
If you do not have a strong magnetic phone case, your phone will require a thin metal plate attachment (two included with each bottle purchase).
If the metal plate is placed in the middle of your phone, this may interrupt wireless charging depending on the type of wireless charger. If wireless phone charging is critical, we recommend placing the metal plate outside of MagSafe icons (not in the center of your phone). Test different locations on the back of your phone with your wireless charger prior to applying the metal plate adhesive.
Note: we can't guarantee that your wireless phone charger will work with the metal plate on the back of your phone.
Are the magnets removable?
No! The Mag Shaker was created with convenience in mind! There are no removable pieces or attachments which reduces manual work and cleaning efforts.

Yes!
How do I clean my Mag Shaker™?
The bottle and cap of your Mag Shaker™ are top-rack dishwasher safe. There are no extra attachments or accessories.
Alternatively, bottles may be washed by hand in warm soapy water or easily shake washed with a drop of soap. Please note warning regarding hot liquids in the Use and Care link below.

If I buy additional metal mounting pieces, can I use them to mount or store the bottle on non-magnetic surfaces?
Yes!
The extra metal pieces can be attached to additional phones, or they can be attached to a non-magnetic surface to store an empty bottle.
If used to store a bottle, the metal pieces may be used to set up an eye-catching "levitating" display on a kitchen wall without taking up cabinet or countertop space.
Note: when metal pieces are used on a wall, they can only hold an empty Mag Shaker for storage purposes.
Does the magnet rotate to allow different video angles with my phone?
At this time, the magnets are fixed in an enclosure. Your phone can be rotated 360 degrees in one plane (i.e. vertical to horizontal). The height of the bottle can be adjusted on nearby equipment to create a preferable video angle.
What can I do if my Mag Shaker bottle has an odor? How can I prevent this?
Certain protein and nutrition shakes can leave a less-than-desirable smell in a bottle if not cleaned out promptly. If your bottle has retained some odor, try one of the following:
1. Roll a piece of charcoal briquette up in newspaper, place it in your Mag Shaker™ cup, and screw on the lid. After a few days, remove the briquette and the newspaper and wash your Mag Shaker with soap and water.
2. Add some white vinegar and baking soda to the bottle and scrub. Do not close the flip lid.
BPA-free plastic tends to absorb smells over time. To prevent your Mag Shaker™ from smelling, avoid storing liquids for too long and rinse or wash your bottle between uses. See our Use and Care page for additional information.

What is your return & refund policy?
We offer a limited, 30-day product return policy. If at any time during the 30 day period you decide you no longer want your Mag Shaker, simply send the UNUSED (and unopened) product back to us and we'll process the refund. If you return a used or opened product, we will deny the refund and provide photograph documentation via email citing why we cannot accept the return. If you are unhappy with your used product due to performance/functionality/cosmetic reasons, please contact us at support@magshaker.com. We will address the issue and take necessary actions to correct the problem.

Do Mag Shakers come with a warranty?
All Mag Shaker™ brand products come with a limited 90-day warranty. If your Mag Shaker™ product fails during normal use or is damaged upon arrival, please submit a warranty.
Please note that our warranty does not cover issues caused by normal wear and tear, accidental damage (drops, hits, etc.), improper use or care of product including irregular cleaning or maintenance (odor/mold/discoloration/etc.).
